Michael Wiedmann

Biography

Michael studied law at the Univer­sities of Heidelberg, Freiburg im Breisgau and Poitiers (maîtrise en droit) and was admitted to the bar in 1992.

In addition to his experience in the commo­dities and automotive industry, he has worked for METRO Group for over 20 years. During his time at METRO Group Michael held various roles in senior management including General Counsel, Company Secretary, General Manager, Group Director Public Policy and Chief Compliance Officer. As “Of Counsel” at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP’s Frankfurt office, he advised national and inter­na­tional clients on compliance issues with a focus on the topics Business and Human Rights as well as Whistleblowing.

Further Roles: Initiator and co-chairman of the working group CSR/Human Rights of the German Institute for Compliance (DICO).
